This was not a post I was expecting to be writing a few short weeks ago. Then out of the blue, all of a sudden, I received an email and suddenly I am being sponsored to attend the writing conference so many of my writing friends are talking about. I am so grateful to Ruby and Suzanne for their support in this. Must attend Eroticon 2013 session: So many to choose from but from a purely practical point of view I'm interested in Cressida Downing's session on editing. I have yet to submit my work to any publisher and think it unlikely that I shall for some time. But I guess I'd like to know what I'm letting myself in for if I ever do.
Bloggers you’d like to be trapped in the lift with: I'd really prefer to avoid being trapped in a lift.
Erotic writer you’d like to write dramatize your life story: I have a dislike for narrow definitions of 'erotic writers'. So my choices may not be immediately obvious ones but I would happily sit and point to passages of erotic writing that surpass the abilities of many so called 'sex writers'. My blog, my rules. Suck it up. For her bawdy, irreverent wit; Molly Keane. For her sharp, even-handed observations of human relationships, Mary Wesley. And if I could add Roddy Doyle for his pragmatism. That would be my perfect trio. Although actually I might also want to involve Emily Dickinson, just for the beautiful breath-like shadows she casts. (Did you really think I could choose only one?)
Expected biggest fangirl / fanboy moment: I have been fortunate to already meet a number of the writers I admire through EroticMeet events. But I am immensely pleased that I shall finally have the chance to meet Marie Rebelle and thank her in person for the supportive friendship and creative encouragement she has shown to me over the last year.
What keeps you awake at nights? An inability to sleep.
